A personal sideblog of art references and tutorials. I like to draw cartoons so most of the stuff on here will relate to drawing, but i'll put other stuff here too.

I made this blog so I can improve in drawing. I'm by no means an expert but i'll link you to other tutorials and try my best to answer questions you may have.

Feel free to submit something!

Just a few [of the] references [from different websites] I’ve compiled for making more unique face/body shapes in my characters.

Of course, creative liberty is (and can be) taken on most of these shapes, but anyone who wishes to design a character should at least know that there are many shapes and sizes for characters to be and that can define them.

I encourage making each character, human or animal, unique and identifiable by their silhouettes and profiles when they’re bald and unclothed.

I love drawing, but I have one problem - noses. I can't seem to draw them well and am very unhappy with a drawing if the nose looks weird. Any nose drawing tips? Also, tips on drawing different types of noses?

for noses, I found that the best way to draw them is by studying how they work!

image

one thing to understand about noses is that they don’t have a lot of fat on them like the rest of the body does. It’s mainly just bone and cartilage. So knowing where the bone starts and how everything else fits into it helps a lot!

I also reblogged a step by step tutorial here a while ago.

as for drawing different types of noses, references help alot! I have something in my drafts I can reblog for you too.

But I would try concentrating on learning the structure of the nose first. Once you do that, drawing other nose types will come to you a lot easier.

So my friend Night expressed a general desire for help with profiles, and I figured I’d go ahead and whip this up! I’m no anatomy master or anything, but this is stuff that helps me quite a bit, so I figured I’d share… even if I have no idea how helpful it actually is. Writing tutorials is hard! Ah well, I hope it can be of some use.

I drew a newer/cleaner version of this in English for the anon who asked for an English version a month ago or so? Sorry for taking so long orz

This has the same info in it as before except for one extra point.

Anyways, again, these are all self-observed notes! I don’t study art or whatever! And I highly suggest you look at different pictures of faces and practice this to have a better understanding.
